14-Court Indoor Pickleball Center Opening in Florham Park on March 28

The new climate-controlled venue at 8 Fernwood Road aims to expand year-round court access for Northern New Jersey players, coaches and beginners alike.

A new indoor pickleball facility is set to open in Florham Park later this month, with Open Play Pickleball announcing a March 28 grand opening for its flagship location at 8 Fernwood Road, Florham Park, NJ.

The business says the facility will offer 14 professional-grade cushioned courts in a climate-controlled setting, positioning itself as a major new venue for pickleball players in Northern New Jersey. The opening comes as demand for court time continues to grow for what organizers describe as the fastest-growing sport in the United States.

According to Open Play Pickleball, the center is designed to address two common challenges for players: limited court availability and inconsistent opportunities for regular play. The company said its operating model will include open play sessions scheduled every hour of every day, in addition to private court reservations.

Founder Jeff Pzena said the facility is intended to make participation easier for both experienced players and newcomers.

“Our mission is right in our name: we want to make it easy for people to just show up and play,” said Jeff Pzena, founder of Open Play Pickleball. “Whether you are a seasoned pro or picking up a paddle for the first time, we’ve built a community-focused environment where capacity is never an issue and the social aspect of the game is front and center.”

The facility will offer programming for multiple skill levels, including sessions for Advanced Beginner (2.5), Intermediate (3.0–3.5), and Advanced (4.0+) players. The company also plans to provide introductory “Pickleball 101” clinics, private coaching and DUPR-rated matches for players seeking instruction or competitive play.

Open Play Pickleball said it will use a player-share pricing model, in which costs are split among participants, with the stated goal of making indoor play more affordable. A limited number of founding memberships are also being offered, with benefits that the company says include early access and special pricing features.

In addition to serving recreational players, the business said it aims to fill a gap for independent coaches by offering more court inventory during high-demand periods such as evenings and weekends. The company said that access could reduce the long waits coaches often face when trying to schedule lessons during prime time.

The grand opening invitation is open to the public beginning March 28. The company said visitors will be able to tour the facility, book courts and explore membership options.

Open Play Pickleball describes itself as a premier indoor pickleball facility focused on accessibility, community and year-round play. More information is available through the company’s website.
