Route 10 Westbound Lane Closure in Roxbury Starts July 7

The right lane is scheduled to close for about two weeks between Sussex Turnpike and Eyland Avenue for priority gas main work, with one westbound lane remaining open.

ROXBURY, NJ – The right lane of Route 10 westbound in Roxbury is scheduled to close beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, for priority gas main work, according to a July 2 New Jersey Department of Transportation notice. The closure is expected to continue until 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, weather permitting.

The work zone extends from just west of Sussex Turnpike, County Route 617, to just east of Eyland Avenue. The left westbound lane is expected to remain open during construction, allowing one lane of westbound traffic through the work area.

Route 10 eastbound is not scheduled to be affected by the project. Motorists should expect delays and use caution through the construction zone, particularly during heavier travel periods.

The work is part of a New Jersey Natural Gas project, according to reporting based on the NJDOT notice. The transportation department said the schedule could change because of weather or other unforeseen conditions.

Drivers can check 511NJ for current construction and traffic conditions before traveling through the corridor.
