Morristown High School Art Show and Film Fest Close Out the School Year

The annual Art & Design Show runs June 3 and 4, followed by the June 5 MHS Film Fest, where this year’s theme is “Out of Order.”

MORRISTOWN, NJ – Morristown High School is closing out the school year with a week of student art, design and film events, beginning with the annual Art & Design Show on June 3 and 4 and continuing with the MHS Film Fest on Friday, June 5, 2026, according to Colonial Corner News coverage published by Morristown Green. This year’s film festival theme is “Out of Order.”

The school calendar lists Opening Night Art & Design Week from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, and the Film Festival from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5. Morristown High School is located at 50 Early Street.

The events give students a public end-of-year platform for visual art, design work and filmmaking, areas that are part of Morristown High School’s broader arts and media programming. The district describes its Communication and Media Studies program as including work in film, audio, video and digital media, with coursework in photographic imaging, graphic design, broadcasting and filmmaking. The school also operates WJSV 90.5 FM and a television studio where students produce Colonial Corner for YouTube, according to the MHS academics page.

Morristown Green’s Colonial Corner News item said the June 1 episode was hosted in English by Johannes Dohl and Scarlett Fitzpatrick, and in Spanish by Caitlin Montoya Estrada and Gysell Andrade Castillo. The episode was directed by Olivia Montague, with Lance Armstrong, broadcasting teacher, listed as faculty advisor.

The public postings reviewed did not list participating artists, film titles or award categories. Previous Morristown High School film festivals have included judged student entries and awards, including the 2018 festival, when a panel of recent MHS graduates selected winners from 18 entries.

The art show and film festival arrive during the final stretch of the school year. The district calendar lists End of Semester 2 for grades 6-12 on Monday, June 8, the last day of school on Wednesday, June 17, and MHS graduation at Mennen Sports Arena on Thursday, June 18.
