Two town notices posted this week warn of a temporary road closure on Mechanic Street and a cone placement at Division Street and Main Street tied to a Transportation Alternatives Program demonstration.
BOONTON, NJ – Boonton said the 100 block of Mechanic Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, April 20, for approximately eight days. The town advised drivers to remove vehicles from the roadway during those hours and follow posted no-parking signs when they are in place.
In a separate notice, the town said traffic cones were being placed beginning April 13 at the intersection of Division Street and Main Street as part of a Transportation Alternatives Program grant. According to the notice, the cones are intended to create a temporary demonstration of proposed curb extensions so officials can evaluate possible improvements to pedestrian safety and traffic operations.
