MORRISTOWN, NJ – NJ Transit said its police department and emergency management office will conduct a training exercise at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Saturday, April 18, beginning at 7 a.m. The agency said the drill will simulate a transportation incident and is part of broader preparedness work ahead of major regional event operations tied to FIFA.
According to NJ Transit, the drill will take about three hours and remain confined to the stadium and its immediate vicinity. The agency said residents and riders may notice an increased presence of police and emergency personnel in the area, but there will be no impact to NJ Transit train or bus service. Participating agencies include NJ Transit Rail Operations, the New Jersey State Police, Bergen County emergency officials, local fire departments, and the Federal Railroad Administration.
