Morris Plains Blood Drive Scheduled Amid Critical Supply Warning

New York Blood Center/New Jersey Blood Services says it is operating with less than a two-day overall supply and less than one day of type O blood.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ – Morris Plains is promoting a Thursday, June 11 blood drive as New York Blood Center/New Jersey Blood Services reports a critical need for donations. The borough notice, posted June 8, 2026, says the blood center is operating with less than a two-day overall supply and less than one day of type O blood as hospitals enter summer trauma season.

The notice says trauma patients, surgical patients, cancer patients and emergency departments are among those affected by blood availability.

Trauma patients, surgical patients, cancer patients, and emergency departments rely on blood every day. A single trauma patient may require dozens of units within minutes, making every donation critically important.

Residents interested in donating should use the information below provided by the borough’s blood drive announcement.
